If you fancy something a bit different this weekend, Campo Viejo has created a floating bar on Mount Pond in Clapham Common – The Lake of Colour. I went to check it out last night, and it was great!
To enter the bar is free, but they also offer a wine blending masterclass for £15, which I would definitely recommend. Campo Viejo is famous for producing Rioja, and the blending masterclass gives you an insight into how they create their wines. Kate and Federico gave us three different wines to try: Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo, which we tried individually. Then we were told how to blend them to create their Reserva, before experimenting to create our own blends. Then we got to bottle and label our product! We also got to taste their newest wine; a white Rioja.
Surrounding the bar were lots of colourful decorations floating on the lake, it was a beautiful spot to watch the sun go down while enjoying some vino!
The masterclass ticket price includes tapas and a glass of wine on arrival (plus your 500ml bottle to take home).
It only runs until Sunday 12th June, so I would definitely head down there before it goes!
